Tintagel

Standing half on the mainland and half on a jagged headland projecting into the Atlantic, Tintagel Castle is one of the most spectacular historic sites in Britain. Its association with King Arthur also makes it one of the most famous, although the history of the site stretches back centuries before the first tales of Arthur.

Dover Castle

Sitting on top of the iconic White Cliffs, Dover Castle has a long and immensely eventful history. Start your visit at the Roman Lighthouse, which is the oldest in the country and explore Henry II’s Great Tower. Discover how Dover Castle resisted the sieges of 1216-17 and stopped the English throne from falling into French hands. Have a go at semaphore at the WWI Fire Command Post and then learn more about WWII in the atmospheric Secret Wartime Tunnels.
