Free cake offer

Ready for a weekday wander? Our historic places are in full bloom this spring and summer, so why not take a weekday wander around your local English Heritage sites?

And to make it even sweeter on Wednesdays, from April until September, you can enjoy a free slice of cake in our cafes when you stop for a well- earned hot drink. It’s our way of saying thank you for helping protect our heritage for everybody to enjoy.

Just show your membership card at the till to get your sweet treat - offer available exclusively for senior members and only on selected cakes – terms and conditions apply, see below for more details.

Terms and Conditions

  1. Offer is available at participating English Heritage cafés on Wednesdays only from: Weds 2 April until Weds 24 September 2025. A list of participating cafés can be found at the end of these terms and conditions. Kiosks are excluded from this promotion.
  2. To qualify for the offer, senior members must purchase a hot drink.
  3. This offer is only available to the following English Heritage membership categories: Senior, Joint Senior and “Adult and Senior Joint” members.
  4. There’s no cash alternative to this offer.
  5. Eligible members can use their loyalty discount in conjunction with this offer. The 10% loyalty discount is eligible for members in their second term of membership or older. Standard members’ loyalty offer terms and conditions apply.
  6. The free cake options within the offer are limited to: Chocolate Brownie (Gluten free), Apple & Blackcurrant Crumblejack (Vegan), Carrot & Orange Tray Cake, Lemon Drizzle (Gluten free).
  7. Members must show proof of their membership at the till point in the café by showing a valid membership card or letter of authority from our contact centre (if card is lost).
  8. Senior members joining on entry at site will be able to claim the offer, however, members joining on exit will not be able to claim free cake offer refunds post their visit but will be able to use it for future visits, during the campaign period on Wednesdays.
