SUITABLE FORAdults
Step back in time and uncover the captivating medieval and Tudor history of Eltham Palace on this exclusive guided tour. Once one of the largest and most significant royal residences in medieval England, Eltham Palace was a cherished retreat for kings and queens. It later transformed into a Tudor royal nursery, where a young Henry VIII spent much of his childhood, and was visited by his daughters Mary and Elizabeth, who would go on to shape the course of history.
Explore the magnificent medieval Great Hall and other surviving structures, where you will hear tales of grand royal feasts and courtly splendor. Wander through the grounds where the chapel, bakehouse, and royal apartments once stood, and imagine the vibrant life of the court in these now-lost spaces. Through engaging stories of the palace’s residents and the pivotal role Eltham played in Tudor dynastic dramas, this tour brings to life a site steeped in royal intrigue, architectural innovation, and the grandeur of a bygone era.
