The Slow Food Spring Fiesta is on Saturday 5th April from 10 until 5pm in the beautiful Dye House at Shrewsbury Flaxmill Maltings.
Come and meet the producers and makers, there will be plenty of food and drink stalls and artisan products, plus hot food and bars will be open for business. This is a free event and dogs on leads are welcome.
Alex McAllister, aka the Force of Nature Chef, who will be leading on some taster foraging walks around the Flaxmill building area as a way of introduction to those keen to take first steps into the fascinating world of foraging. There will be two sessions, one at 11am and one at 2pm. Sessions will last approx 45 -50 minutes. These are free events, however spaces are limited and booking is essential so we can manage numbers. Suitable for 5 years and older.
Slow Food Chef of the year, Steve, 'The Hungry Guy', will also be joining us for a childrens' cookery session at 10.30 This will be a fun 'hands-on' workshop for 5 -16-year-olds that fancy having a go at making their own fresh pasta and in season wild garlic pesto, guided by Chef Steve. All participants will take home the food they prepare. All children must be accompanied by an adult throughout the activity, which will take around 1 hour. All equipment and aprons will be provided. Booking essential, tickets limited.
